Comfortable in My Skin: Everyone Falls Into Place or Falls Away

Comfortable in My Skin: Everyone Else Falls Into Place or Fall Away Contemporary SeekerAlong this journey called life, I’ve been privy to meeting many different people.

When I say different, I mean that in every sense of the word.

From near to far and east to west, all walks of life are crossing my path from every corner of the world.

What I’ve encountered is that many people are drawn to me and vice versa.

I consider myself blessed in this regard.

The Yin and Yang of It

Yet, where there is yin, there is yang.

Others, I feel an indifference, or an underlying current of negativity.

It’s the current that emits the message “I am keeping you close just because you keep your friends close, but your enemies closer. And I’m not sure what to make of you.”

They’re threatened in some way shape or form … by me.

It took me time to arrive at this place — recognizing when someone is indeed, cold (in a nonchalant way).

Yet, it’s heartening to also know, I mean really know, that I’m completely comfortable with others not caring for me.

Comfortable in My Skin

I realize that it’s impossible for everyone to like, or understand me.

Nor do I necessarily want this.

I will not assume several personalities to attempt to please multiple persons.

I can only be one person.

And it’s of utmost importance that I like that person.

If I’m true to self, first, everyone else naturally falls into place or falls away.
