Feeling Defeated? Find the Soul in Your Dance

by Melody Jean

Find The Soul In Your Dance Contemporary SeekerI share this short anecdote for all those who have reached out to me feeling sad, defeated or overburdened by the throws of the world.

The Leader of the Band

Life is filled with ups and downs, and when the downs keep pulling, tugging, that’s when we need to grasp for something else, something greater than us.

It’s a deep place beyond beautiful words, and flowery quotes. Yet, it’s a place that only you, yourself, can find.

You’re the leader of the band, it’s your higher essence, if you will. Even if you don’t believe that something greater, a higher purpose can possibly guide you; I suggest for just one moment that you entertain this idea.

Act as if you do, as if you believe. Seek within. For it’s rumored that we all have the ability to lead our souls to this place. It’s a safe place.

The Soul in Your Dance

I’m told that to get there it’s really as easy as dusting ourselves off and dancing, if you will. Our souls want to dance with the stars, even if sometimes our minds will us to remain spectators who can only wish for the ability to dance.

We have the power to find the soul in our dance. So for today I will leave you to ponder a favorite quote by one of the greatest mystical poets of all time, Rumi (Born on 1207 – Passed on 1273):

“Dance, when you’re broken open. Dance, if you’ve torn the bandage off. Dance in the middle of the fighting. Dance in your blood. Dance when you’re perfectly free.”
